The MSE program is designed for professionals working in the field of computer science who wish to further their skills and pursue graduate level education in software engineering. The MSE curriculum covers industry de-facto standard and international standard models in software process, software process assessment and improvement, software requirements, software architectural design, software testing, software project management, software measurement, and software engineering ethics, such as agile processes, Scrum, XP, CMMI/SCAMPI, ISO 12207/15504, ISO/IEEE standards, SESC framework, test process, agile testing, maintenance metrics, Attribute-Driven Design (ADD), estimation and scheduling, project planning, and many current practices in the field. The Master of Science in Software Engineering (MSE) is an online program that prepares individuals for careers as software engineers and software project managers in industry and government agencies. The program emphasizes a comprehensive and thorough process-oriented approach to software development, and its curriculum is fundamentally grounded in software engineering research, theory, principles, and practice (e.g. CMMI, ISO standards, agile processes, Scrum, XP, software architecture and design patterns). The emphasis on process-oriented methodologies makes this program unique among professional master's degrees. Design: The program is designed for professionals working in the field of computer science who wish to further their skills and pursue graduate level education in Software Engineering. The program incorporates eight strands of assessment and evaluation: critical thinking/problem solving, collaboration/team work, research, software process implementation, software process assessment/appraisal, software standard comprehension, literacy in legal and ethical issues, and communication.
