Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with Secondary Teaching Certification

The Department of Mathematics offers programs leading to the Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and the Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics. The Bachelor of Science degree may also be acquired with the explicit addition of one of these options: actuarial science, applied mathematics, pure mathematics, statistics, data science, or secondary teaching certification.The B.S. in Mathematics with the Secondary Teaching Certification option is intended for students desiring to teach mathematics at the secondary school level. Teacher certification is offered through UTA's UTeach Arlington program, and interested students should schedule an appointment with the UTeach Arlington academic advisor.
