This degree or certificate is designed to train students to meet the need for qualified entry-level animation, visual effects, and video game artists to have a range of production skills including storyboarding, 2-D and 3-D keyframe animation, 2-D and 3-D character and environment design, and motion graphic design. Students are also prepared to transfer to baccalaureate degree programs in animation. Students must complete all required core courses, and choose a specialization option. Program Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this program, college-age students and avocational learners will gain skills allowing for transfer to 4-year colleges or entry into the workplace and industry workers will retrain themselves to diversify their work options within animation, gaming, or visual effects. In the animation industry, workers obtain highly specialized positions such as: digital modeler, character designer, character set-up artist, and texture artist. This certificate allows for specialization in the area of animation design however design and digital production skills are required for any worker entering the field. This certificate will allow students to obtain both a certificate and legitimate employment skills.
