The Department also participates in several multidisciplinary programs: Womens Studies (at the Masters level), Medieval and Renaissance Studies (at the Masters level), and Canadian Studies (at the Doctoral level), which allows students to acquire a specialization in one of these fields. The multidisciplinary Masters in Medieval and Renaissance Studies (MDV) has two objectives:To offer multidisciplinary training in Medieval and Renaissance Studies at the graduate levelTo teach students theoretical approaches and research methods specific to the study of the period. The Medieval and Renaissance Studies specialization is intended for students who wish to enrich their training by including in their main program a multidisciplinary component in Medieval and Renaissance Studies. In addition to writing a thesis or dissertation on a subject related to the Middle Ages or the Renaissance period, the specific requirements of the collaborative program include two compulsory courses in Medieval Studies (MDV), one of which will count as a partial requirement for the masters degree in the main discipline.
