Studio 58 is the professional theatre training program at Langara College, located in Vancouver, British Columbia. We offer nationally-recognized training for both actors and production personnel. Studio 58 offers three-year programs for Acting and Production.This program is designed for individuals with previous design, technical, or backstage theatre experience who wish to learn and develop additional skills in a practical theatre setting. Prospective students should have a clear notion in which areas of theatre production they wish to concentrate their studies. The Theatre Production Program, after the first term, consists of foundational, developmental, and applied studies in areas of technical theatre.

Students must have a BC Grade 12 Graduation (or equivalent).

English Language Requirements

  • A minimum 50% in English First Peoples 12, English Studies 12, Literary Studies 12;
  • Langara English Test (LET) with a score of 2;
  • An 'S' grade in ENGL 1107 or 1110; or a minimum 'C' grade in ENGL 1120;
  • A minimum 'D' grade in an English (Post-Secondary Transfer) course;
  • IB English A (HL or SL) or IB English Literature and Performance (SL) with a score of 2;
  • AP English Literature and Composition or AP English Language and Composition with a score of 2; or
  • A minimum 'C' grade in GCSE O-Level English, GCSE English Language B.
