Thanks to the proliferation of handheld devices, gaming is more accessible than ever – with people of all ages, genders and backgrounds able to get their game on. Yet it’s no longer just about playing, it’s become a cultural phenomenon, impacting social interactions, entertainment and, of course, careers.

The Game Design and Development major will prepare you for a career in both the booming gaming industry and wider IT sector, where game design practices and technologies are used across a growing range of domains. You’ll have opportunities to build a portfolio of interactive software projects across various platforms, working independently and within interdisciplinary teams. And you’ll gain expertise in converting creative ideas into playable prototypes and publishable apps while practicing user-focused design, iterative workflows and responsible project management. Furthermore, programming is taught from the ground up, so no coding experience is required.
