As a Wayne State mathematics student, you instantly become a part of a tight-knit community of like-minded thinkers. Our Bachelor of Science in Mathematics prepares students to specialize in the physical, life or social sciences, business administration, engineering and education. Our program provides a route by which students may achieve a level of competence to do research in any of several special mathematical areas and prepare themselves for work as mathematicians and statisticians in industry and government. All College of Liberal Arts and Sciences students must choose a minor to complement their degree program. When paired with a minor in a field such as computer science, business, biology, or physics, a math major is even more powerful.
