Very-large-scale integration (VLSI) is a fast-change technology and an extremely challenging and creative field that offers exciting and fast-growth opportunities for engineers. Today, there is tremendous industrial demand for digital VLSI designers to develop real-world applications in making a drastic change in our daily life. These include microprocessors in PC or workstation, chips in a graphics card, digital camera or camcorder, System-on-a-Chip (SoC) in a smartphone or a portable computing device, and embedded system applications ranging from small portable digital watches to large home appliances, office automation, telecommunication, instrumentation, entertainment, aerospace, and automobiles. If anyone aspires to design next-generation VLSI applications, it is worthwhile to know about digital VLSI. The digital VLSI Certificate Program provides comprehensive knowledge of current and emerging technologies in the design and test of field-programmable gate array (FPGA) implementations, application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) designs, and SoC. This certificate program will provide students with the fundamental theoretical concepts and practical know-how necessary to understand and work with various aspects of digital VLSI systems.
