Rowan University's Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management is an interdisciplinary academic program that provides rigorous academic preparation for students seeking advanced professional education in this growing field. The program is designed to include homeland security education and training for a career in international, national, state, and local disaster preparedness, emergency management, and safety areas with an emphasis on urban environments. In addition to providing students with a broad understanding of safety and security issues, the Rowan University Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management degree program focuses on several vital components of the emergency management field: Rowan University requires the completion of 120 semester hours (30 S.H. must be at Rowan University) of approved general education (Freshmen beginning Fall 2018 or later must meet Rowan Core requirements) and major coursework in order to graduate with a bachelor's degree. The B.A. Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management is a full or part-time program (upper level courses are offered on the Camden campus), that provides students with 33 of the required semester hours in the major.
