The Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (C.A.G.S.) in Community College Leadership enables students interested in advanced competency coursework to engage with relevant coursework without matriculating into the Ed.D. program. Community college leaders who have a master's degree and experience in other higher education sectors or industry will seek out the C.A.G.S. to gain requisite understanding of the 2-year college sector. The C.A.G.S. also allows students who are unsuccessful in the doctoral program as a result of an inability to pass the Benchmark II (B.M.I.I.) [the program's comprehensive exam] to be recognized for the successful completion of the program's core courses and the community college specific track courses. A student who has made a B- or better, and earned no more than two B-, in the required courses may be eligible for the C.A.G.S. in Community College Leadership.
