From day one, your learning is hands‑on and immersive. You’ll study in the purpose‑built Mary Seacole Building, home to advanced clinical skills suites, movement and rehabilitation labs, anatomy and physiology facilities, and cutting‑edge simulation environments that mirror real clinical practice. You’ll refine assessment and treatment techniques with peers and visiting service users, building the clinical assurance you need before stepping into placements from Year 2 onwards. Over the course of your degree, you’ll complete more than 1,000 hours of practice‑based education across acute, community, primary care, social care and sport settings.
Aligned with NHS Values and shaped by interprofessional learning, the Physiotherapy MSci equips you to graduate as an autonomous, adaptable practitioner ready to influence and improve future models of care. Applicants must have at least five GCSEs at grade B/5 or above, including GCSE Mathematics at grade B/5, GCSE Science at grades BB/55, and either GCSE English Language at grade C/4 or above or GCSE English Literature at grade B/5 or above, and must also meet one of the following qualification requirements: GCE A levels at grades ABB (or BBB for eligible contextual applicants), including a grade B in Human Biology, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Psychology, or Physical Education; a BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma at grades DDD (or DDM for contextual applicants) in Applied Science, Health and Social Care, or Sport and Exercise Science; a BTEC Level 3 National Diploma at grades DD (or DM for contextual applicants) in Applied Science, Health and Social Care, or Sport and Exercise Science, combined with an A-level grade B in one of the specified science-related subjects; a BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate at Distinction (or Merit for contextual applicants) with A-level grades BB, including grade B in a specified subject, or alternatively a Merit in a relevant applied subject with two A levels at grades BB; an International Baccalaureate Diploma with 31 points (or 30 for contextual applicants), including a minimum of 5 at Higher Level in Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Psychology, or Sports, Exercise and Health Science, alongside the required English and Mathematics equivalents; or an Access to Higher Education Diploma with a minimum of 128 UCAS tariff points (or 120 for contextual applicants), including 45 Level 3 credits in a relevant health- or science-related subject, with a contextual admissions process applied to eligible UK undergraduate applicants throughout.
