Clinical research continually produces new evidence that can benefit patients but this evidence does not reliably find its way into everyday patient care. Our research focuses on three priorities: Implementation Science – understanding and changing professional behaviour to improve the uptake of evidence-based practice Health and Wellbeing of Older People: – particularly the development and evaluation of complex interventions in community settings and Primary Care Oncology – the earlier diagnosis of cancer, screening, and both pharmacological and behavioural approaches to cancer prevention in primary and secondary care. We also bring methodological skills and primary care perspectives to a wide range of other research themes within the School of Medicine, particularly the closely allied Palliative Care research programme.
