Informed by our world-leading research and shaped with input from industry, it will give you the skills and experience to launch a successful engineering career.You’ll learn through lectures, labs, tutorials and projects, many of which take place in our state-of-the-art teaching building, The Diamond. Here you’ll gain hands-on experience with industry standard facilities, including our Electronics and Control Lab, Teaching Cleanroom and Computer Labs.In Year 1, you will develop a strong foundation in systems modelling, computer engineering and AI, circuits, and analogue and digital electronics, while building teamwork and project skills.In Year 2, you will explore design projects, control, communications, embedded systems and circuits, with options in energy conversion and hardware/software design.In Year 3, you can tailor your degree by specialising in one of four specialisations:- Electrical and Electronic Engineering (eg power electronics, energy systems, semiconductor electronics and devices)- Electrical Engineering (eg electromechanical machines, control systems, energy systems)- Electronic Engineering (eg semiconductor devices, digital signal processing, integrated electronic and semiconductor systems)- Communications (eg wireless communications systems, digital signal processing, integrated electronics)- Our graduates are highly sought after and have gone on to careers with leading employers such as ARM, Siemens, National Grid, Jaguar Land Rover, Rolls-Royce, Shell and Unilever.**Accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as an Incorporated Engineer (IENg) and partially meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer (CEng).****Why study this course?**- Shape the future: Electronic and electrical engineering lies at the heart of many of the technologies that will shape the future.
