Our two-year Electrical Engineering Technician diploma program is designed to meet the needs of highly skilled technicians in the ever-expanding Electricity Sector. The two main themes you will explore are Power Systems and Industrial Automation, covering topics such as Electrical Theory, PLC programming and troubleshooting, AC/DC Motors and Controls, Instrumentation and Controls, Power Systems, PV (Solar) Systems, CAD, and some 3D modeling, Power Electronics, and Computer programming. We emphasize effective techniques for installing, modifying, testing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting equipment. You will learn these practical skills on our modern campus through in-class theory and hands-on labs. These will lead you to careers as CAD Technician, Electrical Installer, PV Installer, Quality Assurance, Field Service, Estimating, and Technical Sales.

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or 19 years of age or older with mature student status Grade 12 compulsory English, C or U, or equivalent, OR Conestoga College Preparatory Communications (COMM1251)Grade 12 Mathematics, C or U (MCT4C or MHF4U or MCV4U or MDM4U), or equivalent, or Conestoga College Preparatory Mathematics for Technology & Apprenticeship (MATH1385)Minimum grade required for:MCT4C 60%MHF4U, MCV4U 55%MDM4U 70%MATH1385 60%Applicants with MAP4C will not be considered for admission to this program. They may be considered after writing the Conestoga College Math Pre-Admissions test. Minimum grade cut-offs apply. Applicants with MAP4C may be given an alternate offer to the one-year Technology Foundations program which serves as a preparatory pathway into this program.
