The MHK program in Mental Performance Consulting is the only applied (course/internship-based) sport psychology program in Canada preparing students to obtain certification through the joint AASP/CSPA certification program accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). The title Certified Mental Performance Consultant or CMPC is a trademarked gold standard credential within the sport psychology profession. The credential demonstrates and validates the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to work with individuals across the performance spectrum to strengthen mental performance, wellbeing, learning, and growth. It demonstrates to the public, employers, and organizations that practitioners have met the highest standards of professional practice, including completing a combination of educational and work requirements, successfully passing a certification exam, agreeing to adhere to ethical principles and standards, and committing to ongoing professional development. The MHK program helps to meet the most robust requirements of the profession and prepares students to be competitive when seeking future employment in the field.
