As a result, there is an urgent global need for management practices that balance economic demands with sustainability.Organizations across the public and private sectors are increasingly incorporating these considerations into their planning. Managers who understand them will be at the forefront of leading change. TRU’s Master in Environmental Economics and Management (MEEM) prepares graduates to make major contributions to the field of economic sustainable management.They acquire a broad understanding of the business environment, advanced management skills and specialized knowledge in the emerging area of sustainability.Learning OutcomesUpon successful completion of the MEEM, students are able to:Employ positive and normative economics for the study of sustainable management.Analyze and synthesize local, regional and global environmental, natural resource and economic development problems.Formulate multiple and alternative solutions to problems effectively using analytical tools, individually and as a team player.Illustrate that knowledge can be uncertain, ambiguous and limited, and how these limitations might influence results and interpretation of environmental problems and solutions.Prepare and effectively communicate scholarly work, opinions and analysis, both oral and written.Demonstrate leadership skills to meet fundamental challenges of moving to a sustainable economic path.Appraise the role of ethics and social responsibility in business organizations.Develop public policies relating to the regulation of the environment and sustainability.
