Langara's Certificate in Arts & Science (Engineering) is a BCCAT articulated program providing courses to match the first year of engineering study at the University of British Columbia. Those courses satisfy the UBC Faculty of Applied Science requirements for engineering transfer classification when completed in the regular 2-semester academic year.At Langara, the Certificate in Arts & Science (Engineering) can serve as the first year towards a Diploma in Arts and Science or an Associate of Science Degree. The certificate is awarded upon completion of the courses with a minimum CGPA of 2.5, which must be earned in a period of no longer than five consecutive semesters.

Students must have a BC Grade 12 Graduation (or equivalent).

English Language Requirements

A minimum 70% in English First Peoples 12, English Studies 12, or Literary Studies 12;
Langara English Test (LET) with a score of 3;
An 'S' grade in ENGL 1107 or 1110; or a minimum 'C' grade in ENGL 1120;
A minimum 'C-' grade in an English (Post-Secondary Transfer) course;
IB English A (HL or SL) or IB English Literature and Performance (SL) with a score of 3;
AP English Literature and Composition or AP English Language and Composition with a score of 2; or
A minimum 'C' grade in GCSE O-Level English, GCSE English Language B.
