The faculty and teaching staff in the School of Kinesiology and Health Studies (SKHS) are committed to creating an inclusive, positive, and high-quality teaching and learning environment. One of our most recent initiatives has focused on improving the "culture of learning" within SKHS through evidence-based tips and strategies to improve learning and academic performance.The School’s mission is to promote well-being from cell to society, through teaching, research, and active engagement in our communities. We pursue our aims while fostering an inclusive, caring, and respectful School environment.The Health Studies Plan is a social science concentration that strives to understand the complex factors that influence physical, mental and social health and well-being. Drawing largely from social science disciplines, students learn about the social determinants of health, approaches to health promotion, health policy, health behaviour change, epidemiology, and program planning and evaluation. Students also explore socio-cultural studies of the body and health to think critically about health in relation to social justice and systems of power and oppression.
