B.Eng and BME. (Co-op Optional) in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering

A unique integrated program delivered jointly by the Faculties of Engineering and Health Sciences, blending Electrical and Computer Engineering with biomedical principles to electrify future technologies. Electrical and Biomedical Engineering is a fast-growing field that involves the application of Electrical Engineering and technology to the solution of problems in medicine and biology. It bridges the historical separation between the biological/medical sciences and the engineering and physical sciences, thereby spanning interdisciplinary boundaries. Scientific and technological advances in biomedicine, as well as ongoing debates about Canada’s national health care system have generated strong social and economic interests in the development of biomedical technologies. The Integrated Biomedical Engineering and Health Sciences program is an interdisciplinary undergraduate program that will give students a strong foundation in both engineering and health sciences. Students will have a common first year before choosing to specialize in either health sciences or engineering in their second year.
