Harness advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology to better assess and protect patient health. Upgrade your medical imaging skills and learn to use magnetism and radio wave technology to create intricate diagnostic images in this innovative field. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and spectroscopy technology are crucial to studying body chemistry, bodily functions, soft tissues (such as muscles, tendons and arteries) and the cardiovascular system. This technology is also used to detect tumours, especially in the brain and spinal column. Through the MRI and Spectroscopy program, you’ll learn to produce specialized medical images, prioritize patient care and use advanced equipment safely and effectively. After completing this program, you’ll also be qualified to explain imaging procedures to patients, operate the scanner, monitor patients during the scan and ensure the safety of patients and staff around the magnetic field. As part of your professional duties, you’ll learn to educate patients and their support persons, comfort patients and provide compassionate care for their physical, emotional and psychological needs.
