Leeds Conservatoire was established initially as Leeds Music Centre, with a focus on jazz. Today, it is one of the UK’s specialist conservatoires, delivering an education in expert music and performing arts to around 1200 students. Located in the middle of Leeds’ vibrant cultural quarter, Leeds Conservatoire places strong emphasis on developing career-ready performers, producers and entrepreneurs. The conservatoire was also the first to offer a jazz degree in the whole of Europe and the first in the UK to offer courses in popular music and music production. Graduates and alumni are featured and promoted across Leeds Conservatoire's own website and social media channels and are promoted as professional performers for paid work opportunities.
