Applicants must either be applying for a full-time MLitt course due to start in September 2026, or currently undertaking an online MLitt course continuing beyond September 2026.

Value of award (per year)

Two awards are available - one Home (£5,000) and one Overseas (£10,000). Awards are paid towards tuition fees. Online or part-time students will receive the total value of the award over the duration of their degree (pro rata per year).

In making decisions about the award of the scholarship, we will give consideration to a variety of criteria, including, but not limited to the following:

• We may give preference to applicants from Developing economies as defined by the United Nations ( Table C of this document).
• We may give preference to applicants who self-identify as members of excluded or under-represented minorities.
• We may give preference to applicants who are historically underrepresented in Divinity (students from ethnic minorities, students with disabilities, students who are the first in their family to attend university).
• We may give preference to applicants from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
• We may give preference to applicants with a household income of less than £34,000.
