What you'll receive
A scholarship valued at $10,000 in your first year of study in a science single or double degree.
The scholarship will be paid as a stipend of $5,000 after the HECS-HELP census date in your first and second semester of study, as long as you have an active enrolment and meet all the scholarship conditions.
You must:
be graduating Year 12 in 2025, or have graduated Year 12 in 2024
be starting university for the first time in 2026
have not undertaken/commenced any tertiary study, other than studies in special university programs designed for secondary school students (e.g. START QUT)
have applied for a tertiary place through the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) and received a QUT offer in your first preference
have achieved a minimum unadjusted Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) of 98.00 or a minimum unadjusted selection rank of 98.00 for an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma to be considered.
have placed one of the eligible courses as your first preference on your QTAC application at the time of the main December and main January admissions offer rounds:

There is no scholarship application process for this program. All eligible students who complete a QTAC application in line with QTAC key dates, listing a QUT Science single or double degree at their first preference, and who do not accept any other merit scholarship at QUT, will be considered for a Faculty of Science Excellence Scholarship offer.
Quotas apply. The Faculty of Science reserves the right to use discretion to balance the offers made across the discipline and degree combinations.
Other scholarships at QUT may require you to complete a separate application to be considered.
