Applicants to the Brass Performance Program must first submit their Roosevelt University Application online. All CCPA applicants must also submit the Artistic Application, which allows applicants to provide more information about their artistic background, submit their audition preview or pre-screening recordings (no audio or video enhancements, please) and schedule their future audition/interview. Brass Audition Requirements: Horn: Solos of the candidates choice from standard horn repertoire. Orchestral Studies applicants must also present at least five orchestral excerpts. Tenor Trombone: One Rochut Etude; one intermediate or advanced technical etude; two contrasting works by Bozza, Hindemith, Corelli or Wagenseil. Orchestral Studies applicants must also present at least five standard excerpts. Bass Trombone: One Rochut Melodious Etude; one advanced level Etude by Tommy Pederson; two solo works of contrasting styles. Orchestral Studies applicants must also present at least five standard excerpts. Trumpet: A. Honegger - Intrada (intro), J. Haydn - Concerto in Eb (1st mov), T. Charlier - Etude Nr. 4. Tuba: A complete concerto by Mozart or Strauss, or a work of similar difficulty. Orchestral Studies applicants must also present at least five standard excerpts. A freshman applicant is defined as an individual who has completed or will complete a high school degree or its equivalent and has fewer than 12 transferrable college credit hours. The admission requirements for freshman applicants are as follows: Roosevelt requires applicants to attain a cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 2.0 for at least 3 years of study. Self-reported information is accepted for most programs but an official transcript will be required if you are admitted to Roosevelt University. If you took dual enrollment classes at your local community college as part of your high school diploma, you will need to submit transcripts from your community college in addition to your high school transcripts. Roosevelt is test-optional. If you have taken the ACT or SAT we encourage you to send your scores, though these are not required for admission.
