Sociologists are uniquely poised to contribute to a variety of productive activities in an increasingly diverse and socially and technologically complex workplace. The sociology curriculum offers a broad education that emphasizes the social and cultural basis of human lived experiences, interactions, and motivation, along with the development of flexible analytical reasoning skills and tools for data management and analysis. This major prepares students for work within non-profit, governmental, and social service agencies, as well as within medicine, law, and business.
