Most of the challenges facing society require an understanding of both biology and chemistry. Illinois Tech's biochemistry degree prepares you to tackle those challenges through a challenging array of lecture and discussion classes as well as laboratory courses. Many biochemistry majors participate actively in research during the school year or during the summer. Health professions schools are competitive. The Master of Science in Biology for the Health Professions is a post-baccalaureate, pre-medical program designed to strengthen you as an applicant for professional health schools, including medicine, dentistry, optometry, and pharmacy. Illinois Tech’s five-year Accelerated Master’s Program in biochemistry and biology for the health professions provides the skills, knowledge, and experiences to open doors to career opportunities.
