The College of Engineering will seek accreditation for the Nuclear Science and Engineering program from the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org, after there are graduates from the program. The goals of the nuclear science and engineering curriculum are to prepare students for careers related to the many beneficial uses of nuclear technology and energy. Nuclear engineers apply engineering principles to the research, design, and operation of a wide variety of nuclear technology applications including power generation, medicine, and radioactive waste management.
