The University of Tampa’s major in cybersecurity is a cutting-edge program that teaches students to protect the confidentiality, availability and integrity of information and information systems that support modern organizations. Students receive a comprehensive education that focuses on both the fundamentals of information systems as well as advanced topics in areas such as network security, cryptography, risk management, security governance, business continuity, security architecture, physical security and critical infrastructures. Graduates will have an understanding of the topics, terms and principles contained in the eight domains of the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Common Body of Knowledge. The CISSP is the leading professional certification in the cybersecurity field, which requires mastery of several domains. The program-level outcome is to ensure that students have an understanding of the knowledge contained in the following domains: Security and Risk Management, Asset Security, Security Engineering, Communication and Network Security, Identity and Access Management.
