Actuarial scientists are usually the ones in their group of friends who calculate the risk and reward of every activity. A degree in actuarial science from CBU will enable students to become an expert in analyzing risks of all types and understanding how it affects the psychological, physical and financial stability of our society. Students will learn to help businesses grow, retirees invest with confidence and people gain security and peace of mind.CBU’s actuarial science program prepares students to take the first two actuarial exams. The Society of Actuaries has approved CBU for validation by educational experience in all three areas of applied statistical methods, economics and corporate finance.Students will have a solid foundation of mathematical and statistical processes at a level comparable to that of students graduating with a BS in Actuarial Science at other universities. Processes should include (but are not limited to) a proficiency in collection, organization, design, and drawing inferences from data using appropriate statistical methodology and problem solving skill.Students will demonstrate their ability to apply Mathematics and Statistics of Actuarial Science in other fields at an appropriate level and demonstrate their ability to apply knowledge acquired from their major to real world models.Actuarial science majors can apply their field of study to a variety of careers.
