Our Space Science and Engineering MSc will prepare you to build a career at the forefront of the global space sector. Combining advanced physics with real-world engineering, you will develop the skills to design, analyse and deliver space missions - from initial concept through to launch and operation - opening pathways into spacecraft systems, mission analysis and space technology roles.

At Leicester, you will learn within a unique ecosystem shaped by over 65 years of internationally recognised space research. Our scientists and engineers have contributed to more than 90 missions, including instruments on the James Webb Space Telescope and ESA’s BepiColombo, with multiple instruments currently operating in space (11 at time of writing). Space Park Leicester, our collaborative site, provides direct access to a vibrant research and innovation community, where teaching is shaped by live projects, industry collaborations and cutting-edge facilities.

Our MSc bridges the gap between physics and engineering, equipping physicists with systems engineering capability and engineers with a deep understanding of the space environment and instrumentation.
