Students need to hold a relevant Bachelors degree with a grade equivalent to a UK Upper Second-class honours (2:1). We consider applications on a case-by-case basis, but typically we equate a GPA of 3.2 or above in a US first degree as comparable to a UK Upper Second-class.

For all research degrees you will normally be required to have obtained or expect to obtain a first degree equivalent to at least a UK 2:1 Honours degree. You will need at least a 2:1 or its equivalent in order to be considered by any of the main funding bodies. For some programmes we also consider evidence of relevant personal, professional and educational experience. IELTS (Academic): Overall score 6.0. No less than 6.0 in any section TOEFL IBT: Overall score 87 with minimum scores of 21 for writing, 21 for listening, 22 for reading and 23 for speaking.
