Our BSc (Hons) Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry degree offers a strong foundation in chemistry, research methods, and laboratory techniques, while providing the specialist skills and understanding that you’ll need to pursue a future in drug discovery. Designed with the pharmaceutical industry in mind, the course provides the practical experience and theoretical knowledge that employers need, combining laboratory skills with a strong understanding of core chemistry and its real-world applications. You’ll focus on areas such as drug testing, drug efficacy, computer-based drug design and the quality control of pharmaceuticals, preparing you for a career in the drug discovery industry. The course provides the opportunity to spend an additional year studying abroad or working on a placement in industry, expanding your horizons and gaining valuable hands-on experience.
