Medical Research MSc (intercalated)

This course for intercalating medical students comprises four taught modules and a research project. The taught modules are designed to give a solid foundation in qualitative and quantitative research, including study design, research methods, statistics, ethics and research governance. The research project is a substantial piece of practical work running throughout the course. The University of Leicester's research reputation is truly global. In the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF), Leicester was ranked 2nd in the UK for its world leading research in Clinical Medicine. Clinical Medicine at Leicester was also ranked 18th in the world and 5th in the UK by the 2022 Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects. Working with national and international experts within their research fields, you will contribute a significant piece of research to your chosen discipline, often presenting your work at national and international conferences. You can conduct laboratory and in silico-based projects within the College of Life Sciences or more clinically focused projects in collaboration with colleagues at University Hospitals Leicester.
