Based in the School of Medicine, successful completion of this two year, full-time or four year, part-time postgraduate research degree will enable you to complete a doctoral level research degree.The revised full-time degree programme has been aligned more effectively with the three-year timeframe available to you as a clinician during your training, to conduct ''out of programme'' research. This provides candidates with a structure that supports and facilitates completion of the research project and the writing of the doctoral thesis for examination within this timeframe.The part-time variant is offered for eligible applicants who wish to study for a doctoral level research degree over a longer period and are able to study part-time over a period of four years.Our training programme offers the opportunity to conduct your research, supported by research active academics whose expertise will support you. Your research will be conducted within a training pathway designed to develop you as a researcher through a programme of Personal and Professional Development Training. The training pathway, which is based around the Researcher Development Framework, contains a mixture of mandatory and bespoke training, offering you the opportunity to supplement your existing skills.
