Prepare for direct entry to Year 2 of an undergraduate degree at the University of East Anglia's (UEA) School of Art, Media and American Studies.
The International Year One is taught by INTO and UEA, combining expertise in the subject area and international student support to ensure you thrive in your studies. From film and TV to online media, you’ll examine a wealth of media forms. You'll also explore your own creative applications of different media, preparing for a diverse range of career paths.
If you choose to specialise in film and television production, you will hone your skills using UEA’s state-of-the-art TV studio – a professional environment supported by a team of experienced producers, directors and engineers. You will also be introduced to studio production, including directing, camera-work, floor management and editing.
If you are aiming to progress to media studies or film and television studies, you will be introduced to major debates, theories and thinkers in media studies. Explore audio-visual and audio formats, from television to podcasts, and learn how to analyze and think about media representation.
INTO UEA's core modules are taught in small classes sizes by INTO lecturer, Nicky Barrell, who has 25 years’ experience working in industry for BBC, ITV, Sky, Channel 4 as a series producer and director. You'll also study in the School of Art, Media and American Studies for range of academic modules and have regular contact with students and lecturers at UEA.
