Postgraduate Diploma in Paediatrics

Doctor Pathway:

a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or equivalently recognised international degree, and hold current registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand or as a Medical Practitioner in your home country. You must also have at least one year of relevant professional work experience.

Nurse Practitioner Pathway:

a Bachelor of Nursing or Master of Nursing Science (or equivalently recognised international degree), and hold current registration as a registered nurse in New Zealand, or with an overseas nursing regulatory body. You must have either completed, or be enrolled in, a Nursing Council of New Zealand accredited Nurse Practitioner Masters degree programme.

For either pathway, there is no specific GPA/GPE requirement to be considered for entry into the Postgraduate Diploma in Paediatrics.

Doctor Pathway

You must also hold a current registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand and have access to six months equivalent of paediatric exposure, including primary care.

Nurse Practitioner Pathway

You must hold a current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and have access to six months equivalent of paediatric exposure, including primary care.
