A degree in Epidemiology and Applied Health Research offers opportunities to investigate the distribution and causes of disease in individuals improve health care delivery and develop policies preventing diseases in populations. Our multidisciplinary approach to research offers learners from diverse academic backgrounds opportunities to gain knowledge skills and attitudes in research methodology biostatistics health policy and knowledge translation. These competencies provide our graduates with a variety of opportunities to pursue meaningful and rewarding careers across the health sector. The thesis-based Masters in Epidemiology and Applied Health Research program begins a year of classroom learning to introduce core and specialized materials in epidemiology and biostatistics principals. This is followed by a research-intensive thesis component in which learners prepare a thesis proposal to demonstrate application of their core competencies to real-world problems. The degree culminates with a thesis defense seminar where learners demonstrate their mastery of the subject.
