Master of Arts (MA) in Musicology with Performance

University of Victoria

The MA in Musicology with Performance (project option) is intended for musicology students who are proficient performers and want to continue serious study of their instrument. The program is modelled on the MA in Musicology, but reduces the seminar requirement to accommodate performance activities. The program culminates in a dual-purpose capstone project including a lecture recital and a related research paper. This program is designed to support those aspiring to teach at post-secondary institutions, which often also require experience in performance and classroom teaching on musicological subjects.
