Our recognized strength is in both biophysical processes and in critical human geography.Your fellow students are engaged in fieldwork from the High Arctic to South Africa to Southeast Asia, as well as in York’s hydrology, GIS/remote sensing, climatology and biogeochemistry labs. Our MA and MSc graduates use their training to find work in diverse areas including environmental policy, immigrant and refugee service, sustainable tourism, the public sector (including positions in government ministries of labour and development, and on city council), peace organizations, and high school and college teaching.
