International Year One (UTP Stage II): Science is equivalent to the first year of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Bachelor of Science degree. Upon the successful completion of International Year One (UTP Stage II), you’ll begin the second year of your degree at TMU.

International Year One (UTP Stage II): Science Program Structure
Following the completion of International Year One (UTP Stage II): Science, including maintaining academic good academic standing and achieving any program-specific CGPA, students will progress to their chosen major at Toronto Metropolitan University. Students must achieve a CGPA of 2.0 to progress into TMU’s Faculty of Science.
This program is designed for students who are missing all prerequisite subjects (Grade 12 Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry) to gain direct entry into the International Year One pathway in Science. Students in the one-term Fundamentals program will complete the following four foundation courses: Introduction to Physics, Introduction to Chemistry and two courses in Functions, Calculus, and Vectors.
To progress into International Year One in Science, students must achieve a minimum of 65% across these courses.

The minimum age requirement at TMUIC is 17 years old. Students must turn 17 by the last day of their first semester to be admitted.
Academic Entry Requirements
Entry into International Year One (UTP Stage II) generally requires the successful completion of Year 12 of secondary school or its equivalent with overall and individual subject requirements depending on program.
Direct Entry
If you meet the direct entry English language requirement and meet the relevant academic requirements for your country, you will be eligible for direct entry to International Year One (UTP Stage II). Direct entry includes a non-credit support course called Introduction to our Learning Community (ILC101). This program is designed to be completed in three terms.
Integrated Entry
If you meet the integrated entry English language requirement and the relevant academic requirements for your country, you will begin International Year One (UTP Stage II) and will take ILC101, two academic courses and two required integrated tutorials to support your academic courses in your first term of study. This program is designed to be completed in three terms.
