Through the Health Information Management program, you will develop specialized, in-depth knowledge of health information science, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology and build practical skills in medical coding, computerization and statistical analysis. You’ll use this knowledge to effectively manage the critical health information required for administration, research, education and proper patient care. As a Health Information Management graduate, you are eligible for the national certification exam administered by the Canadian College of Health Information Management (CCHIM). After this exam, you can work across Canada as a certified professional member of the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA).In this program, you will develop the specialized medical, computer and business skills required for a successful career in health information management. Build fundamental health information management skills and develop knowledge in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.
