The School of Music at Brandon University fosters an environment where we pursue goals, refine craft, realize identity and engage with the world. All students registered in the Bachelor of Music degree follow a common program for the first year. At the end of the first year, the choice is made as to the specific major to be pursued. The Performance Major is available in piano, voice, strings, guitar, woodwinds, brass, percussion, percussion/drumset, and jazz. Students in this program prepare for careers as professional performers or as private teachers. Admission to this Major is available by audition after the completion of the common first year. Pedagogy, repertoire, literature, and accompaniment courses may be offered in a different yearly sequence than that outlined in the degree program requirements, as outlined by year. A minimum of 60 of the total required credit hours including at least 36 credit hours of major requirements at the 300-level or above must be completed at Brandon University.
