Our research has a global focus and is building an understanding and awareness of the effects of people’s circumstances and actions on their health, with the aim of reducing inequalities in health. We are looking at the full range of health challenges facing Australians and investigating the relevance and effectiveness of existing services and programs for rural and remote communities. We are passionate about better understanding and responding to the health needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. You will make a difference to people’s health and wellbeing. You will be supervised by leaders in their field and work with researchers and/or clinicians from other disciplines in a truly collaborative, real-world health and medical environment.A Masters Degree by Research is a higher degree by research course where the student undertakes a time-based, supervised research project. The course enables students to make a significant contribution to knowledge in a particular field of research. Graduates of Masters by Research degrees will have an advanced and integrated understanding of a complex body of knowledge in one or more disciplines or areas of practice. They will have expert, specialised cognitive and technical skills in a body of knowledge or practice to enable them independently to demonstrate evidence of an original investigation or testing of ideas, competence in independent research or experimentation, a thorough understanding of the appropriate techniques in the field demonstrated both by their application and a thorough review of the literature, critical use of source material, experimental results (where appropriate), and published works, an appreciation of the relationship of the special theme to the wider field of knowledge and the capacity to present well-written work.
