The Master of Advanced Nursing Practice has been designed to meet the core skill requirements for advanced nursing practice. The program develops nursing competence, skills and knowledge in assessment, planning, implementation, diagnosis and evaluation of care from a specialist capacity. My career opportunities You will be recognised for your expertise and ability to apply multidisciplinary knowledge and skills in nursing and will have the ability to analyse, critique and synthesise advanced practice in nursing. Pathways to further study Students who complete a dissertation component will have a pathway to Higher Degree Research study. Graduates who wish to continue onto Higher Degree Research study and have not completed the dissertation component will be able to apply for entry to the Graduate Diploma of Health Research (4161) which provides the necessary preparation for entry into the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Master of Philosophy (MPhil) program.

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Advanced Nursing Practice, applicants must hold: a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent degree from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) and a GPA of 4 or above AND current or temporary unrestricted registration as a nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or the professional registration body in their country of origin OR a Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Masters qualification in nursing or a related area (students admitted with one of these qualifications may be eligible for credit depending upon the courses completed in the prior qualification) AND current or temporary unrestricted registration as a nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or the professional registration body in their country of origin.
