This qualification reflects the role of individuals who service, diagnose and repair electrical systems and components in vehicles in the automotive electrical service and repair industry. Individuals may enter into this qualification with limited or no vocational experience and without a lower level qualification. However individuals may have completed one or more of the following and wish to increase their knowledge further:AUR20720 Certificate II in Automotive Servicing Technology orAUR20420 Certificate II in Automotive Electrical Technology orother similar qualificationsFurther training pathways from this qualification include AUR40620 Certificate IV in Automotive Electrical Technology or other relevant qualifications.

Age of 18 years or above. Satisfactory completion of the equivalent of Australian Year 11 or higher. Have physical attributes suitable for working in the automotive industry that encompasses manual handling of equipment including lifting and carrying heavy objects within scope of safe working practices (i.e. removing and fitting engine electrical components and parts).
