The Zoology major offers you the opportunity to study Australia’s unique animals and their diverse habitats. Zoologists gain a deep understanding of the animal kingdom, exploring topics such as ecology, behaviour, and evolution, as well as the physiology and biochemistry of cells, tissues, and organ systems. This scientific foundation enables zoologists to understand how animals function and interact with their environment. Zoology plays a vital role in conservation and sustainability, contributing to key research areas such as climate change and ecosystem management. You’ll benefit from access to specialised on-campus animal facilities - including those for reptiles, small marsupials and rodents, sheep, and cattle - as well as over 1000 hectares of native bushland, rural environments, and aquatic habitats rich in wildlife.
