High Point University (HPU) was established in 1924 as a cooperative venture between the Methodist Protestant Church and the City of High Point. Today, the university has nearly 300 faculty members and over 4500 students enrolled in a variety of daytime, evening, and summer programs. Additionally, High Point University offers 64 study abroad exchange programs, including semester- and year-long exchanges, faculty-in-residence programs, and more. HPU has state-of-the-art infrastructure, including modern, updated academic schools, residence halls, student centers, and athletic stadiums. Plans are on to build an arena and a conference center, an undergraduate sciences building, new restaurants, a parking deck, and two new residential facilities in anticipation of the growing number of applicants. Campus life at HPU facilitates student empowerment, both in the classroom and in the residential communities.
