The Certificate in Gerontology at CSUSB is designed for students from a variety of disciplines, and with a variety of career goals. Although traditionally completed by students in Sociology, Health Science, Kinesiology, and Psychology, this certificate is open to all majors. Successful completion of the certificate will not only impart competency in gerontology, but it will also expose the student to a range of perspectives in this emerging interdisciplinary field.
Course Requirements:
Certificate course requirements may be the same ones used to satisfy major, minor, credential or general education requirements.
Under semesters, a total of six classes (3 core classes and 3 elective classes) must be completed to be awarded the certificate
Up to two of these classes may be transferred from another university, if these classes are upper division and approved by the Gerontology Certificate Coordinator.
