On campus living is currently optional, but quarantine seems to have made this year’s freshman class less ready for off campus living. We want to make sure that they have a support system in place, which they will have in the dorms.
The Department of Music at the University of Missouri - St. Louis is committed to teaching, research/creativity, and public service. Career Outlook
A music degree builds the foundation for a career in professional performance, music education or composition and music theory. A music degree also prepares you for positions in the music industry (recording, publishing, radio programming, manufacturing, music retail) or as a church music director. Employers in many fields take notice of applicants with music degrees; music study requires a high level of discipline, musicians are creative and positive and musical aptitude is known to be correlated with other desirable skills.
UMSL music graduates have been readily accepted into outstanding graduate programs, including our own Master of Music Education degree program. Many are pursuing successful careers in music education, business, and industry, or as professional performers.
