This program of study provides students with an additional option in preparing for career advancement or transition. This degree is personalized and flexible, and designed, in part, to recognize traditional coursework available at KVCC in addition to structured on-the-job training, military, trade/proprietary schools, and apprenticeship programs. Students interested in this degree need to meet with a counselor to determine the appropriate concentration or emphasis of study for an individualized education plan. Students may elect to complete another recognized certificate program within this degree.

Careers in this pathway are related to technologies necessary to design, develop, install, and maintain physical systems such as buildings, structures, machines and equipment. These include engineering, manufacturing, construction and related technologies.
Job Outlook
Manufacturing employers are desperate for skilled workers. Unlike many other entry-level employment opportunities, manufacturing employers continue to offer on-the-job training, apprenticeships, and payment for continued education and career advancement. There are many stable, long-term employment opportunities in the industrial trades field.
